Morgan Motor Company will be exhibiting at Cholmondley Pageant of Power

The Cholmondley Pageant of Power in Cheshire will be taking place on the 15-17th June 2012 in the glorious grounds of Cholmondeley Castle. The  Pageant combines speed, nerve and flair with exceptional design and engineering.  Since 2008 it has been the ambition of the Pageant of Power to showcase the best of historic and contemporary automotive  power, whether on land, sea or Air. The history of the Cholmondeley track goes back to the day that Tour Britannia, the classic race and rally tour, first visited Cholmondeley Castle in September 2006.  Seeing classic sports and GT cars in action on the estate roads sparked the beginnings of the ‘track’ that delivers such a spectacle.  The speed event course was resurfaced and widened in the spring of 2008 as part of a major investment programme to make the 1.2 mile course suitable for a wider range...

Brand new Morgan Plus 8 exhibited at the first 96 Club Chelsea Rendezvous of 2012

Brand new Morgan Plus 8 exhibited at the first 96 Club Chelsea Rendezvous of 2012

The very first 96 Club Chelsea Rendezvous of 2012 took place last Sunday, March 25th at The Royal Hospital Chelsea, United Kingdom. ‘The story of the formation of the 96 Club is the stuff of legend. When sports car driver Ray Bellm was “done” for speeding on the public highway back in 1976, his Ferrari was clocked at 96 mph. The resulting ban left Ray with the dilemma of how to enjoy the performance of his new steed. His friend, Michael Scott, had the bright idea of forming a ‘track club’ for circuit driving – the first of its kind. The subsequent club name followed as a matter of course. From the first, membership of the 96 Club was exclusive, as it was passed on by word of mouth by those “in the know”. It was never driven by status in any way however....

The company is betting 1930s styling and peppy performance will help set its cars apart from other top-end British makers in the already crowded and competitive mainland luxury market, where its cars will retail for up to 4.2 million yuan (HK$5.1 million). “For the likes of Rolls-Royce, Bentley or Aston-Martin, all of the press is about how the downturn in the rest of the world has basically been swallowed up by an...
