Le Mans 2012 Result

Plenty of pace but little luck summed up OAK Racing’s performance at the 80th edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours, which also counted as round three of this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship, at Circuit de la Sarthe this weekend.  Having run 1-2 and held the LMP2 class lead by two-and-a-half minutes at midnight, the team was left to rue what might have been with a solitary seventh place finish for its Onroak Automotive designed and built #35 Morgan-Nissan 2012 LMP2 driven by Bas Leinders, Maxime Martin and David Heinemeier Hansson. The trio had been fighting the team’s sister car for the class lead after a trouble-free first nine hours before three punctures in as many laps, not to mention a necessary change of electrics, saw it plummet down the order to as low as 13th at one stage. Le Mans Classic 2012

Billed as the largest classic car show in the world, the 2012 Le Mans Classic attracted over 10,000 classic cars from all over Europe for the bi-annual, 3 day event. As well as the static club displays, some 400 race cars all taking their turns on the track in one of 6 different plateaus racing over a 24 hour period. One car in particular in plateau 4 was celebrating a significant event. Car number 29 – better known as TOK 258 – was present to mark the 50 year anniversary of its class victory at the 1962 Le Mans 24 hour. Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012 Highlights

Morgan Motor Company exhibited at Goodwood Festival of Speed for a weekend of high octane demonstrations and showcases alongside the worlds top motorsport brands. The key vehicles presented were the Morgan LMP2 (just back from le mans), Plus 8, Aero Coupe, 3 Wheeler and the Plus E (Morgans fully electric concept). Morgan 2012 LMP2 The Morgan 2012 LMP2 was showcased alongside the Morgan 3 Wheeler (in matching Gulf colours) in celebration of the achievements of the LMP2 car at le mans 24 hour run by oak racing The racecar achieved the fastest lap in its class at le mans and did not disappoint with a selection of exhilarating runs up the Goodwood hill. Morgan China in media around the World

    Over 50 journalists were present as British Ambassador Sebastian Wood CMG unveiled the Morgans at Beijing’s Luxury Expo, launching the brand in China. The result was coverage of the cars in both Chinese and global media, from the British Daily Mail to the Irish Times, USA Today, South African Times Live and the Malaysian Insider. Morgan Aero Coupe Video

 Photographer Ben McMillan of Beijing Photospace and filmmaker Chris Dolan of Triple Three Productions have combined material to create this launch video for the Morgan Aero Coupe in China. Stills photography took place during the cars’ week long stay at the Beijing Photospace Shunyi studio, whilst footage was shot around the cars’ storage location in Louzizhuang. Meguiars cleaning products ensured the Aero was spotlessly clean for the shoots. The Aero Coupe has now travelled to Guangzhou, where it will be launched in Guangdong at the Luxury Import Fair at the end of July.

Morgan Roadster in Westin Chaoyang Hotel

Morgan’s Roadster formed the centrepiece of Chaoyang Westin Hotel’s lobby over the Fathers’ day weekend. Dads and their families were welcomed to the hotel for a champagne brunch before being given the chance to be photographed sitting in the Morgan. The car drew a great deal of – “I was delighted to see peoples’ reaction and excitement towards this British classic,” said Westin Chaoyang manager, Nick Porter.  The Roadster is now in Guangzhou where Morgan will make its Guangdong debut at the Guangzhou luxury import show later this month.
