Morgan OAK Racing claims LM P2 podium at Shanghai season finale

Jacques Nicolet, Matthieu Lahaye and Olivier Pla rounded off OAK Racing’s FIA World Endurance Championship campaign with a satisfactory third place LMP2 class finish at the 6 Hours of Shanghai today, while the LM P1 lineup of Bertrand Baguette, Dominik Kraihamer and Takuma Sato finish seventh in the prenier prototype catergory. Sato finished seventh in the premier prototype category. Despite fine efforts from both driver crews, the French team feels the results fall below expectations given the true pace of its #15 OAK-HPD LMP1, which was making only its second appearance of the season, and Onroak Automotive designed and built #24 Morgan-Nissan 2012 LM P2 that finished fourth overall in this year’s final class standings after scoring four podiums in eight races. All-round team performance nets Morgan LMP2 podium in Japan

A battling performance helped OAK Racing score their third FIA World Endurance Championship LM P2 podium of the season at the 6 Hours of Fuji today, while its LMP1 machine came home eighth in class on its series return. Despite the #24 Morgan-Nissan 2012 LM P2 being less suited to the Fuji Speedway than other circuits, the French squad was confident that its pace over a longer stint could make it a podium contender in race conditions. TWO of Worcestershire’s most iconic names – Severn Valley Railway and Morgan Motor Company – will go head to head later this month in a thrilling time trial to raise charity cash. A steam train will take on a Morgan 3 Wheeler over 16 miles from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster on Friday, October 26, starting at midday. Going loco on the footplate of Sir Keith Park will be Sky Sports presenter Vicky Gomersall while Coronation Street actor Tony Hirst, who plays fireman Paul Kershaw, is the man hitting the road.
