Classic Vehicle Union of China (CVUC) is a national organization with over 400 members and a collection of about 1000 classic vehicles. It was founded in 2005 and its headquarters are located in Beijing. In 2009 CVUC officially joined FIVA and attended the FIVA General Assembly in Turin.
With strong support from Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA), and after two years of intense preparation, CVUC held the first edition of China Rally of International Classic Cars from 18th to 23rd of August 2011 along the golden route from Beijing to Shanghai. This was a FIVA B-category event that brought together 32 classic cars and 123 participants from 12 countries. Horst Brüning, the president of FIVA, attended the opening ceremony. Twenty-four journalists from ten foreign countries followed the whole drive and over 100 media agencies gave reports on it. In towns and cities along the way, locals welcomed participants and their beautiful vehicles with strong enthusiasm. For the first time, an international high-level classic car rally was held in China. This event opened the door to world-class top-level classic vehicle competitions in China and drew great attention both at home and abroad, especially in the cities along the route.
China Rally of International Classic Cars was held again in 2012 in Beijing during the National Holidays. It was the second time for China Rally to go on stage gloriously in this time-honored country after a successful first edition.
In 2013, the event level was upgraded and its name was changed to Classic Cars Challenge China (4C). 4C was held from 9 to 21 October 2013; at that time, the Divine Land followed the journey with curious eyes. Once more, the motorcade left from Beijing, then touched the cities of Tianjin, Qingdao, Lianyungang, Nanjing and Hangzhou, and finally arrived in Shanghai. In the hundreds of cities, towns and villages along the route, more than 2,000,000 people admired the spectacular sight. This year, we are back with another edition of Classic Cars Challenge China (4C)!
