Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012 Highlights

Morgan Motor Company exhibited at Goodwood Festival of Speed for a weekend of high octane demonstrations and showcases alongside the worlds top motorsport brands. The key vehicles presented were the Morgan LMP2 (just back from le mans), Plus 8, Aero Coupe, 3 Wheeler and the Plus E (Morgans fully electric concept). Morgan 2012 LMP2 The Morgan 2012 LMP2 was showcased alongside the Morgan 3 Wheeler (in matching Gulf colours) in celebration of the achievements of the LMP2 car at le mans 24 hour run by oak racing The racecar achieved the fastest lap in its class at le mans and did not disappoint with a selection of exhilarating runs up the Goodwood hill. Morgan Motor and OAK Racing place an impressive 6th at the European Le Mans Series Opener

  OAK Racing overcome tough ELMS opener to take sixth at Paul Ricard     1st April 2012. OAK Racing began their European Le Mans Series campaign with a top-six finish at the 6 Hours of Le Castellet in France today in spite of several mechanical problems plaguing the team throughout the race. The driver crew of Jacques Nicolet, Guillaume Moreau and Dominik Kraihamer were forced to overcome an overheating engine, triggered by falling water pressure, to bring the Onroak Automotive-designed and built #24 Morgan 2012 LMP2 home sixth overall. A trouble-free opening stint from Kraihamer initially suggested the team would be in contention for a podium finish. Those hopes were dashed however after the opening round of pit-stops when, following a tactical decision not to change tyres, the Austrian’s pace suffered dramatically as degradation took its toll. Morgan Motor and OAK Eye Strong European Le Mans Series Opener

In January 2012, Morgan Motor Company, in conjunction with OAK, announced that the British sports car maker will be returning to the Le Mans 25 Hours in 2012. OAK Racing will be looking to build on their successful start to 2012 when the team’s attention switches to the opening round of this year’s European Le Mans Series – the 6 Hours of Le Castellet – at Paul Ricard this weekend (April 1). The French outfit will field an Onroak Automotive-designed and built Morgan 2012 LMP2 on home turf after demonstrating its potential during the opening FIA World Endurance Championship round at Sebring less than two weeks ago where the car qualified on pole position, set fastest race lap and finished second in class.
